Alongside our weekly gatherings, MVCF Youth participates in a few special events during the year. These give students time to be together outside the normal weekly rhythm and create shared experiences that help them grow in friendship and faith.
Camps are the biggest events of our year, and students look forward to them.
We participate in:
These camps are hosted by outside organizations, so families usually register directly with the camp once we share the details. We pass along everything you need to know — dates, cost, what to bring, and how to sign up.
If a student wants to bring a friend, that’s usually fine. If the camp fills up, we’ll simply check and let you know if there’s still space.
We also have occasional one‑off events during the year. These vary, but may include things like:
We announce each event ahead of time so families know what’s coming.
(You mentioned you’re not sure how many events there are — this wording stays honest without implying a large calendar.)
Students sometimes participate in fundraising to help cover the cost of camps or special events. When that happens, we share the details with families so students can take part if they want to.
We keep things simple. For most events, “signing up” just means letting the leaders know your student wants to go. For camps, families usually register directly with the camp organization.
We make it clear what’s needed for each event.
Students can invite friends to most events. When someone wants to come, we check and let you know whether space is available.
If you’re new, the best first step is still Thursday Youth Group — it’s the heart of our Youth Ministry. Families are also welcome to join us on a Sunday to get to know our church community.
