Practical details for parents about safety, communication, and what to expect

We want parents to feel confident, informed, and at ease when their student comes to MVCF Youth. Below are the most common questions families ask as they get connected.

MVCF Youth is led by Bill and Britney Bjorke, who bring steady care, energy, and a family‑like atmosphere to everything they do. They’re present, attentive, and committed to walking with students in real, everyday ways.

Students are supervised by adults who know them, care about them, and show up consistently. We keep things simple, relational, and grounded in common‑sense safety practices.

Thursday Youth Group includes:

  • A simple dinner
  • Outdoor time and active games
  • Space to talk, laugh, and connect
  • A short, clear Bible teaching
  • A family‑like atmosphere where students are welcomed and cared for

Monday nights are more focused — a next step for students who want to dig deeper into Scripture. Some students start with Thursday Youth Group and add Bible Study later as they grow and want more.

Yes — dinner is normally part of Thursday Youth Group. It’s simple, kid‑friendly, and gives students a chance to settle in and connect before the night gets going.

When the weather is good, students often spend time outside playing games or hanging out. Adults are present and available, but teens have room to move around and be active.

No sign‑up is needed for Thursday Youth Group. Special events may require sign‑ups, and we communicate those directly with families.

We keep communication simple and clear. Parents receive updates about:

  • Schedule changes
  • Special events
  • Camps
  • Bible Study details
  • Any important information students need to know

Communication happens through email, text, or in‑person conversations — whatever works best for families.

Yes. MVCF Youth participates in camps, retreats, and special outings throughout the year when they’re available. These events are announced in advance so families can plan ahead.

Absolutely. Friends are always welcome at Youth Group.

That’s completely normal. Bill and Britney are great at helping students feel comfortable, included, and at ease — whether they’re outgoing, quiet, or somewhere in between.

The easiest place to start is Thursday Youth Group — it’s the heart of our Youth Ministry. Families are also welcome to join us on Sunday for worship if you’d like to get to know our church community.
